General Info
The organizer, Slovak Vacuum Society, and co-organizers of this conference invite you to attend the 13th Joint Vacuum Conference. All researchers, engineers, teachers and students working in vacuum-related fields are welcome to attend this international conference.
JVCs are being organized by Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Slovak Republic. These conferences are devoted to presentations of research activities from the organising countries mainly but on the other hand participants from all over the world are warmly welcomed.
Venue
The JVC 13 Conference will take place in hotel Patria, Štrbské pleso, High Tatras on June 20 - 24, 2010. Štrbské Pleso is one of the three most important starting points for all turistic tracks taken in High Tatras. The website link to the hotel is: http://www.hotelpatria.sk

Publications
Selected papers prepared according to "Guide for Authors" (http://www.elsevier.com/authors) will be consequently published as the Proceedings of the conference in a special issue of Vacuum (IP factor 1,114). For those interested two hard copies and a CD of the manuscript have to be submitted to the registration desk.
Scope
The scientific program of the conference will cover following topics related to vacuum:
- surface science and applications
- thin films and interfaces
- plasma science and techniques
- vacuum science and technology
- electronic materials and processing
- nanotechnology
- surface engineering
- bio and environmental engineering
- in-situ observations at low pressures
Conference Language
The official language of the conference will be English and will be used for all presentations and printed materials.

The International Conference NANOVED & NANOTECH & TECHTRANSFER 2010 will be held in Bratislava from May 16 to 19 2010.
The Conference will be devoted mainly (but not solely) to the latest progress in nanoscience, nanotechnology and nanomaterials, to their applications in diverse areas of physics, materials science, electronics, chemistry, biology, medicine, etc, and to their technological transfer.
